Introduction

Grace, mercy, and peace...

For a few weeks now we have been looking at Mark’s gospel, seeing incredible miracles worked by our Lord Jesus. From these miracles we learn that with God, all things are possible, that with Jesus, there are no incurable or hopeless situations.

Today in our gospel story Jesus gets a prayer request to visit Jairus’ house. As He accepts the invitation, He has to make his way through a pressing crowd. And in this crowd was a weak, timid, dying woman who reached out and touched Our Lord. And when she did, her life was instantly, completely, and permanently transformed.

There are those today who are in need of a transformation, who need their lives to be radically changed.

The woman’s disease
  • Her Ailment
  • Her Agonies
    • She suffered physically
    • She suffered medically
    • She suffered socially
    • She Suffered emotionally
    • She suffered religiously
    • She suffered financially

How many people today can identify with the poor woman? Maybe you are filled with suffering and sorrow.

This woman paints a picture of two types of people:

  1. Any person who does not have Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord
  2. The believer who is laboring under a heavy burden because of his lack of understanding when it comes to the level of God’s compassion

I appeal to those two types of people, and the appeal is this: come back to Jesus, come to the cross. This is why He came—because we can’t get up there in our own.

The woman’s deliverance

  • She heard
  • She believed
  • She acted
  • She connected
  • She was delivered
