As we celebrate Pentecost today, it is interesting to know why this celebration in so important in the history of the church. We will be looking at the Holy Spirit as the unifier & enabler of the church. I pray that we are blessed today as always...

Lets quickly look at the atmosphere of the believers on that Pentecost morning...

They were unified in their purpose

Acts 2:1

  • Waiting on the lord together...
  • The same trait...
  • Even though we have different functions...

They were unified in prayer

Acts 1:4-5  

  • They pray together...
  • Nothing builds unity in the church than praying together...
  • Nothing brings miracles in a church than praying together...

They were unified in power

Acts 2:3-4a 

  • They were all filled with the power of God...
  • One of the problems with modern...
  • There is no other way around spiritual unity...

They were united in performance

Acts 2:4

  • Each of them is being enabled for that moment...
  • When the church is unified in the spirit...
  • God doesn’t save one to sit and another to serve...
